Storage | L-shaped cabinets — enough lockers, without wasted depth

Unlike a standard box cabinet, an L-shaped unit can split storage around how people actually use it. In the source project the gym guests mostly leave a few clothes, so each bay has a narrow, tall hanging zone that keeps garments tidy, plus a smaller compartment above or below for a bag or shoes. Two L-shaped units can also join into a rectangle, which uses the wall more efficiently. ffffff design uses this kind of planning — shaped around behaviour — so a limited area holds enough storage without wasting depth.

From white, everything begins. When storage is clear, the room can stay quiet.

Why an L-shaped cabinet suits a gym

The behaviour is not a home wardrobe

Guests usually leave a coat, a bag, and shoes for a short time. They do not need a deep wardrobe of shelves. A narrow hanging zone matches that, and cuts unused capacity.

Modules can join

Two L-shapes make a rectangle, so a corner and a straight wall can both be used. The number of bays can follow how many people the gym opens for.

Circulation and a tidy look

Hung clothes plus a separate spot for bags and shoes make a changing room easier to keep looking clean — especially read together with the materials (mirror, glass, stone effect).

Questions worth asking before the design

  1. About how many items does each guest bring (clothes, bag, shoes)?
  2. Locked bays, or open compartments?
  3. How do corners, columns, and escape routes stay clear?
  4. Which comes first: door material, or hardware that is easy to maintain?

Bespoke furniture is part of the design and build. Sizes follow a site measure. See the process.

FAQ

Is an L-shape always better than a box?

Not always. A box is simpler. An L follows behaviour and corners more closely. Traffic and what people carry decide it.

Can ready-made cabinets be enough?

They can. Ready-made depth and bay counts often miss short-stay storage. A bespoke unit is easier to align with headcount and the wall.

Do two joined L-shapes cost more?

The price depends on material, locks, and quantity. This article does not quote a price. The quote follows a measure.
