Practical guides

How do you start a shop fit-out? How do circulation, partitions, and the opening date line up?

The practical way to start a shop fit-out is to fix customer circulation and what each partition is for, then work back to the opening date and the scope — rather than choosing a colour first. Display, try-on or trial, the cashier counter, storage, and staff routes have to sit in the right places before the brand image can hold. ffffff design can take design and building work together: a whole shop, partition changes, display joinery and the cashier counter, refresh and protection, so the picture and the site do not become two different jobs.

Three things before the style

1. Circulation: how someone enters, stays, and pays

The view from the door, the width of the main route, the key display or service wall, and where the cashier sits all affect how the shop works and how a queue feels. A small shop in particular should not jam at the entrance.

2. Partitions: display, back of house, and services in their places

Alterations often include partitions, fire services, and security or telecoms equipment. Before moving a wall, ask where stock goes, where staff change or rest, and whether the low-voltage and power supply are enough. Where the work is minor works or electrical, it is carried out by the 新晞工程 team. 新晞 is a registered electrical contractor and a minor works contractor.

3. The opening date, counted backwards

Mall or street-shop access hours, management-office applications, joinery lead times, and how often drawings change all take time. Say the target opening date when you enquire. The quote stage aims to name the items and the programme. See the process.

A typical shop scope, for comparison

  • Whole-shop fit-out
  • Alterations: partitions, fire services, security and telecoms
  • Fitted furniture: display walls, shelving, fitting rooms, the cashier counter
  • Refresh: protection, paint, wallpaper, flooring, replacement or new furniture

Brand image and customer flow are best set as a spatial language by ffffff design, then built. From white, everything begins.

A checklist before work starts

  1. The unit: street shop, mall, or industrial building; a new opening or a refresh
  2. Equipment or partitions that must stay
  3. Brand colours, what must be on display, and how payment works
  4. A budget feeling and a fixed opening date
  5. Known limits from the management office or the building, if you have them

You do not need every document at once. Add them at the meeting and the measure. The service detail is on Services.

FAQ

Does a shop fit-out have to include design?

It is not a rule. Brand image, circulation, and how goods are shown are usually easier to build when design is planned with the work, so the drawing and the site do not diverge.

Can you refresh paint and flooring only, and leave the partitions?

The scope can be assessed that way. Tell us the current position and the aim, so protection, programme, and trading hours can be lined up.

Are a cashier counter and display shelves quoted separately?

The quote aims to name items. Joinery, wet trades, and electrical work are best discussed together, so sizes and services do not miss each other.
